Welcome to the first weekly roundup!
In these types of posts, I’ll share the inspiration behind last week’s comics as well as some recommended content to satiate your intellectual curiosity or just for entertainment.
I’m all ears if you have any feedback on the format and content of these roundups!
With that said, let’s dive in.
Last Week’s Comics
1. CHAZ/CHOP vs. SPAZ/POOP
CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) / CHOP (CHAZ’s redubbed name, the Capitol Hill Organized Protest) was a six-block self-declared autonomous zone, nestled in the hip Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, WA.
CHAZ / CHOP residents could enjoy an exclusive, police-free community experience, which included but was not limited to an increased rate of homicide and a unique characterization of thefts as unplanned donations.
Unfortunately, we all missed our chance to join this lovely “bloc party” as it has finally been shut down as of July 1, 2020.
2. Peaceful Protestors
Mark and Patricia McCloskey were enjoying dinner outside when hundreds of protestors trespassed onto their property on their way to demand the resignation of St. Louis mayor, Lyda Krewson.
Naturally, feeling a sense of FOMO that they weren’t invited to participate, Mark and Patricia pulled out their guns and waved them around senselessly at the harmonious crowd... Oh, a minor detail I forgot to mention is that some of these peaceful protestors were armed and threatened to kill the McCloskeys and their dog and to also burn down their home.
Psh, but how dare the McCloskey’s brandish their guns at such lovely people?
3. Violent Speech
Did you get the memo that a well-intentioned “All Lives Matter” statement is an attack on the BLM movement?
Well, Grant Napear certainly did not. You won’t believe what he said, it’s just so vile. He said, “All lives matter, every single one!”
… Huh? Why did he get fired over that?
Well, see, you have to read between, under, and around the lines to see the blatant racism. Woke leftists have a better intuitive sense of this, so you’ll just have to wait and let them determine what’s acceptable for you to say, so just sit tight and keep your mouth shut for now.
4. Safe Space Tape
Many universities and college campuses support diversity. To be clear, they mean diversity of appearances only, not diversity of thought.
That’s because different opinions make people feel uncomfortable and unsafe and who would want that, amirite?!
We should obviously shut down any viewpoints that make the most sensitive students upset rather than having an open dialogue for opposing sides to understand each other because, uh, this will surely prepare them for the real world once they graduate.
5. Modern Martyr
Have you heard? A new hero is born. Her name is Claira Janover and she’s crafted the analogy to end all analogies.
Sorry, “All Live Matters” proponents! See, if you say “All Lives Matter”, Claira will simply stab you and then inform you that her paper cut matters too. What logical reasoning and exactly the kind of brilliance I’d expect from a Harvard graduate!
Because… because, saying “All Lives Matter” is akin to stabbing the BLM movement? Or, wait, I think she meant that saying “All Lives Matter” is supposed to be like responding with a paper cut to the person who has been stabbed… by Claira?
Anyway, you’ll just have to trust me when I say this is AIRTIGHT.
6. Happy Independence Day
Um, should we be celebrating Independence Day when America is a country founded on systemic racism?! Ugh, what an evil country we live in… a country that gives us the freedom to pursue happiness and to think and speak without hindrance or restraint. Yuck.
In all seriousness, I hope you were able to enjoy your fourth of July yesterday without the woke mob on your heels. 🇺🇸
